Kinder Morgan (now Pembina) Docks Upgrade
North Vancouver, British Columbia
This project involved significant structural concrete upgrades to Berths 1,2,3,4 and 5 located at the Kinder Morgan Terminal in North Vancouver (now called Pembina Canada Terminals). Industra repaired mass concrete sections including structural steel replacement, grout injection to concrete wharf and structural upgrades to the sea wall piling system.
Industra has now completed several concrete wharf structural repair projects for Kinder Morgan/Pembina. This 60-year-old structure requires on-going maintenance and repair. Working from boats and barges, Industra has completed significant repairs involving grinding and chipping concrete, reinforcing steel replacement, structural concrete patching and new concrete formwork. Special netting was suspended to ensure no materials or debris entered the ocean (Burrard Inlet). All work was completed and inspected as per the environmental protection plan.
Additional Scope Items
- Work over water.
- Sensitive environmental conditions requiring an environmental protection plan.
- Debris containment procedures.
- Emergency rescue procedures in place.
- Structural steel installation and repair.
- Sea wall erosion control.
- Structural welding.
- Concrete repairs.
- Epoxy grout injection.
- Sheet pile modifications.
