Kugluktuk Airport Terminal Building

Construction of a new 400 m3 (4,300 square feet) single storey wood framed building at the Kugluktuk Airport in Nunavut.
The Kugluktuk Airport is a small public use airport which serves the community of Kugluktuk.
The airport is located 2 km southwest of the Hamlet of Kugluktuk. The airport serves as a port of call for air carriers offering scheduled and charter passenger service.
The new building will feature three airline offices, a large public space (up to 106 people), public washrooms, a ticket area, luggage room, storage room, janitor’s closet, mechanical/fan room, tank room, and a Community Aerodrome Radio Station (CARS) observation and workspace. The project started in May 2023 and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2024.
Scope Items
  • Siteworks including ground surfacing, drainage, underground and above ground utilities, landscaping, fencing, and traffic/parking delineation and signage.
  • Construction of a new single-storey wood-framed building including all associated building systems, finishes and furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E).
  • Demolition of existing airport terminal building upon handover and operation of the new building, removal of hazardous materials and associated site works.
