Boundary Road Pump Station Replacement and Lift Station Upgrades
New Westminster, British Columbia
This active project on the border between the cities of New Westminster and Richmond includes replacing the existing pump station with a new pump station with increased capacity to accommodate anticipated future drainage flows from a proposed townhouse development. The existing pump station built in 1979, which has reached the end of its service life and capacity, must remain in operation during construction.
Project also includes construction of concrete pads and installation of electrical kiosk and genset for lift station in eastern New Westminster.
Additional Scope Items
- Construct new pump station while existing pump station remains operational until new pump station is commissioned.
- Installation of new 1200mm diameter gravity pipes, road crossing and raised dykes.
- Design and construction of sheet-pile retaining wall below pump station landing.
- Raise retaining wall and fence to tie-in to new raised lock block wall.
- Precast concrete headwall and trash screen.
- Replace existing asphalt sidewalk with concrete.
- Realign ditch to direct flow to new pump station with sheet pile retaining wall.
- Installation of irrigation valve box c/w solenoid valves for public art installation.
- Installation of City-supplied diesel-powered generator set.
- Grading and landscaping, including coloured quilt pattern concrete painting.
- Traffic management.
- Decommissioning, abandonment, demolition and removal of existing pump station, pipes and structures.
- Construction of concrete stairwell with railing after decommissioning of existing pump station.
- Installation of concrete pads for electrical kiosk and generator set for lift station.
