Construction of a pilot water treatment plant within the Coquitlam watershed to support Metro Vancouver’s evaluation of multiple treatment technologies and long-term program development.
The project included installation of a pre-engineered pilot building, multiple process treatment modules, and full integration of utilities, controls, and discharge systems. The scope also included raw water supply, residuals handling systems, equalization and holding tanks, sump pump packages, and discharge piping to the river.
Execution was carried out within a protected watershed environment requiring strict environmental controls, stakeholder coordination, and highly integrated process installation across multiple treatment technologies. A key stakeholder is Kwikwetlem First Nation, who is involved in the design process and part of the integrated construction team.
